Item Title and Description Search Features
|
Noise words: The Search Engine used on the Changing Guard Auction site makes extensive use of the noise
words and, or, and not for building logical comparisons
in your searches.
Phrases: Searching for an exact phrase is accomplished by entering the phrase for which
you would like to search. (eg. fried green tomatoes)
Wild Cards: Our Search Engine accepts two type of wild cards: Multi-character wild cards (*), and single character wild cards (?). To search
for "fried green tomatoes" or "fried green tomato" you would enter as much information as you are sure of, followed by an (*) or a (?). Eg: (fried green tomato*) would find any occurrence of any phrase including fried green tomato with any characters following.
Eg2: fried green tomato?? would find any occurrence of any phrase including fried green tomato with any two characters following the "o".
Combinations: Using noise words with phrases and wild cards you can build
some pretty complex searches. ie.
(fried or green or tomatoes)
(fried* or green tomatoes)
(fried*tomatoes)
(*green*tomato??)
Trying multiple combinations will net different results.
